Are You Saved?

"In the days of His flesh, He offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears to the One able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His piety. Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered. And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation," (Hebrews 5:7-9).

God loved the world so much that He sent His Son to bear the excruciating punishment of our sins on the cross.  "He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him," (2 Corinthians 5:21).  The Bible teaches we receive the resulting salvation from that sacrifice when we obey Him.  What must we obey?

Hear

"How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed?  How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard?  And how will they hear without a preacher?" (Romans 10:14).

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock," (Matthew 7:24).

Believe

"I am from above; you are of this world, I am not of this world.  Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins," (John 8:23-24).

Repent

"...but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish," (Luke 13:3).

"Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations," (Luke 24:46-47).

Confess

"...if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation," (Romans 10:9-10).

Be Baptized

"...beginning from this Scripture he preached Jesus to him.  As they went along the road they came to some water; and the eunuch said, 'Look!  Water!  What prevents me from being baptized?'  And Philip said, 'If you believe with all your heart, you may.'  And he answered and said, 'I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.'  And he ordered the chariot to stop; and they both went down into the water, Philip as well as the eunuch, and he baptized him," (Acts 8:35-38).

"'Brethren, what shall we do?'  Peter said to them, 'Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins," (Acts 2:37-38).

"Baptism now saves you," (1 Peter 3:21).
